It's been a big year for beauty vlogger and transgender activist Gigi Gorgeous, and she credits that to being true to herself.
"I think this year I was the most honest with myself in comparison to other years," she told us at VidCon 2015. "I was honest with what I wanted to do with my career, and I took on different roles and I did different projects that I wouldn't have necessarily been involved with before. And I think that just worked."
Gigi has 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube and has appeared on shows like Project Runway, and she uses her internet fame to bring awareness to transgender issues. She said that she still deals with discrimination and bullying, but she focuses on the positive and on being unique and original.
"At the end of the day, it's all you. You are in control of your own life."
